Contest overview:
We are a self-funded startup in Mountain View, California that is creating a fun way for users to create 'wiki-groups', or groups that can be edited by anyone who is a member. We want to kick start our site, and are giving away prizes to help users play with our site and experience first hand its features.
What makes eDirectree unique?
A. Wiki groups. Earn prizes by organizing your friends into groups that they belong to, and updating avatars of members. Everything inside of your group is a wiki.
B. Reconnect with lost friends by letting people crop faces out of old photos. Let others help you get their contact information.
C. Everything is a widget! Publicize your groups and your top friends through widgets that can be embedded on other web pages.
D. Immediate communication with all group members. Users can communicate with members who have not become active members yet (no distinction between invitees and accepted).
E. Organize your friends based on how you know them.
F. Fastest way to create a group. Make your group alive in seconds.
Terms and Conditions in a Nutshell
Contest begins February 1, 2008 and concludes on February 15, 2008. Contest is open to anyone, anywhere (except certain countries listed below). You have to register on our site to be eligible.
Once you register and agree to these Rules, you can begin creating groups. To qualify for the prizes, you must create real groups with real users. Each group should have at least some new members and some new email addresses. The titles of the groups and first name/last names should make sense at the time of creation (e.g., without editing after they are created). In addition, there must be at least some users (e.g., two users other than yourselves) who post messages, share something, or fill in profiles of members of the group. Every avatar of your wiki group should be filled in (should not be a default avatar). We will verify that each group is a real group before disbursing prizes. Still interested? On to the fine print then! And, because this is a self-funded startup and we don't want people to game our system, there is some important legalese you need to attend to...
Term
The Contest entry period commences on February 1, 2008 (00:00:00 UTC) and continues until all the listed prizes are awarded (the "Contest Term"). No additional registrations or Contest submissions of qualifying set predictions will be accepted after the close of the Contest Term. eDirectree, Inc. reserves the right to cancel the Contest after February 15, 2008 in its sole discretion.
